UGI served as fiscal sponsor for PSU Indigenous Nations Studies and the Siletz Tribe to engage PSU students, Tribal youth and elders in remaking the Tribe’s Portland office landscape.
The collaborative effort transformed a conventional business park landscape into a multi-functioning native plant garden, including Indigenous crafting, learning, and community-building. PSU Indigenous Nations Studies students and faculty coordinated community design workshops with Tribal elders and youth, removed ~400 square feet of pavement with Depave, and then installed culturally-significant native plants and interpretive signs.
